These were once the site of some fishermen\u2019s cottages known as Beesands Cellars. The &#8220;cellars&#8221; in question were once cut into the rock and used for the salt treatment and storage of fish. They are now no longer visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside the cottages are the remains of a lime kiln. Limestone was once brought in by boat and burnt to produce lime for fertiliser and building materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!4v1709040218807!6m8!1m7!1sE_uyO8KarNbRD2qTWKkV_A!2m2!1d50.25925546592197!2d-3.654994682652397!3f270.22920437942804!4f-2.2756441705192145!5f0.4000000000000002\" width=\"100%\" height=\"450\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you follow the road towards Beesands village, take a look at the football pitch, &#8220;The Cellars&#8221;, on the right hand side. Until recently (2018), this was the home of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BeesandsRoversFc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beesands Rovers FC<\/a> (who now play in Loddiswell).
