Stop 6: (570 m) Irrigation pond next to the path – SM 818 046

The pond to the right of the path was made by damming of a small stream. The water is pumped up to the farmland above and used for irrigating crops. Notice the luxuriant growth of plants and trees to the left of the path where the stream goes down the cliff. You are still on the sheltered, eastern side of the peninsula, where growth of trees is possible.

In the distance you can see a tall navigation tower, which is your next stop. Walk up and over the top of the hill, through a gate.
